Black & White

I remember her auburn hair
Against my fingertips
Bright green eyes when she laughed
Redness of her lips

But I remember the cold gray door
The one she closed on me
It slowly took the light, left behind
A pale moon in a charcoal sea ('cause)

After she said goodbye
Fade to black & white
The colors all ran dry
Fade to black & white

Black leather, gray pinstripe meet
Beaten by one-way romance
Here in heartache alley
Where only shadows dance

Only smoke comes from their lips
Ashes from their hands
They stare at old movies and silently
Bury their dreams, they understand

After she said goodbye
Fade to black & white
The colors all ran dry
Fade to black & white

One more clear drink
I'll be swallowed by the night
Maybe tomorrow
I'll be reborn in amber light

After she said goodbye
Fade to black & white
The colors all ran dry
Fade to black & white
